An Adventure called YEStonia
In March, I was invited on a trip to a place that is very rare to visit for people in
Kosovo... Estonia. A very beautiful place with rich culture and good people. For two months we prepared ourselves for this trip, and on 8th
of May we traveled in Estonia for new adventure for 10 days.
The reason that we traveled to Estonia was the YES Seminar and YMCA Europe's General Assembly meeting. First we had 3 days seminar for youth from
different countries of Europe, precisely from 25 countries of Europe. For me it
was the best experience ever! Getting to know people who are the same age as me
and sharing our country experiences, learning from our stories
about the situation of the young people right across Europe.

Part of the Yes Seminar was the presentation on the role and
support of the Erasmus +, their work and support on capacity building and development
of the young people in Europe. During those three days we worked also on how to
implement or develop our own strategy, a very interesting and helpful topic for
our future as young leaders in our countries, the lecture for developing the
strategy was presented from a great man called Philip Wilkinson, his
lecture was very helpful and motivated me. What was more interesting for me personally was the fact that Mr.
Wilkinson did the strategy to save the people in Kosovo during the last war in
1999, a very incredible experience to know how the strategy of saving Kosovo
was implemented.
On
the Yes Seminar beside the lectures and implementing the strategy was also the
chance to meet so many young people that are so great and smart from all over the Europe,
I’m very happy that I can call them my new friends. Also, we had the culture evening when all of
us presented some of the best parts of our culture, also I with Dorina as
representatives of our country Kosovo, we presented some of the most beautiful
parts of Kosovo, our culture, environment, clothes etc.

After
the three days seminar for young people, I had the opportunity to be part of the
General Assemble for YMCA Europe. I was able to see closely the procedure of a
big assembly meeting, working and collaborating to make a good strategy for the
future of YMCA Europe, how to improve the quality of work and how to increase
the possibilities to involve more young people in decision making.
Except the work mentioned above, there was also free time,
we visited some of the most beautiful places of Tallinn. I was amazed by the
way they preserve their native culture and that was reflected in all over the
city, for example the most beautiful part of the city it was The Old Town with
very big and beautiful churches, houses
with different colors, towers etc. Beside
the culture, the city was very clean and very green, great weather and
beautiful birds. It was amazing and great opportunity to visit a beautiful city
like Tallinn, Estonia.
